The DeWalt DWA1786IR IMPACT READY step drill bit drills and enlarges holes in sheet metal from 3/16 IN up to 7/8 IN with a single bit. It carries a titanium nitride coating, a split point tip that resists walking at the start of the hole, and a double-spiral two-flute design that clears chips as it cuts. The 1/4 IN hex shank locks into impact drivers — the bit is rated for impact use as well as standard rotary drills. Sometimes called a unibit or step bit; sold individually.
