The Tempo Communications 177-G Precision Tone Generator is a portable, battery-operated tone generator for cable identification, fault location, and pair identification. It transmits a crystal-controlled 577.5 Hz tone pulsed at 1 Hz that can be reliably detected even in high-noise or power-influenced environments where other tones fail. A -27 to +27 dBm adjustable output lets technicians set the signal level for each job, and three insulation-piercing test leads plus a woven polyester carrying case make it field-ready.
