The WoodOwl 01008 is an 11/16 IN diameter by 24 IN long Deep Cut utility auger bit with a 7/16 IN quick-change hex shank. Built from induction-hardened high-carbon steel with a uniquely tapered shaft and a PTFE coating, it bores deep, smooth holes in utility poles, railroad ties, pressure-treated lumber, and wet or frozen wood. The specially designed flute clears sticky chips from the deepest holes, and the hand-sharpened cutting edge and spur can be resharpened.
