The Platinum Tools TP500C LanSeeker is a pocket-size cable tester for CAT5, CAT5e and CAT6 twisted-pair runs, built for techs who want a fast wiremap check without menus or settings. There's no on/off switch—plug in the main unit and detachable remote and the test starts automatically, with results displayed on both ends in under 2 seconds. It identifies shorts, opens, miswires, reversed pairs and split pairs, and flags a short the moment one end of the cable is plugged in.
A debug mode steps through faults one pair at a time to pinpoint the problem, and a built-in tone generator lets you trace cable runs with a tone probe.
